The Future English Online Teacher Community (OTC) programme is built on 12 professional competencies of the British Council Continuing Professional Development Framework (CPD Framework) and Teaching for Success modules. It is designed to help teachers and teacher educators improve their performance and achieve better results from their learners.

Programme participants will take part in three self-access Teaching for Success modules, facilitated forum discussions, live meetings and regular webinars with leading ELT experts to explore the module themes further and learn how to apply them to their teaching practice. They will develop and manage their e-portfolio and reflection journal.

The topics of this nine-week programme are:

  • Module 1 – Understanding learners: Understanding motivation in the classroom
  • Module 2 – Integrating ICT: Understanding learning technologies
  • Module 3 – Assessing learning: Engaging with assessment for learning

The 2023–24 OTC programme will be delivered in two cohorts:

  • Cohort 5: 16 October – 15 December 2023
  • Cohort 6: 15 January – 15 March 2024

Teachers are free to choose either of these cohorts to suit their availability. Registration dates are below.
