If you have acquired a UK qualification issued in the UK by a recognised institution, you may need certification or verification of your original documents before submitting them to the Kazakhstan/other countries’ authorities, educational institutions or employers.

If you’re planning to study in the UK, you may need to have Kazakhstani documents certified for submission to UK educational institutions.

  • Certification is confirmation that a photocopy is a true copy of an original document. We can prepare certified copies of your original UK and Kazakhstani qualifications for you.
  • Verification is the process of ensuring that original documents are genuine. British Council Kazakhstan can act as a verifying authority and confirm the validity of UK educational or professional documents.

Which documents are NOT eligible?

The following documents are NOT eligible for any of the services:

  • IELTS Test Report Forms
  • Photocopies
  • Certified photocopies
  • Scanned images

The British Council reserves the right to reject certification or verification of any document if the programme or institution is not recognised by the UK education boards, if the document is found to be altered or defaced in any way, or if there is any question regarding the originality of the document.

Certification of documents

We will require your original documents to provide this service. We will hold these securely until the service is complete and the documents can be returned to you. We will retain a copy for our records. We will also record your name, type of document, the date of transaction and any other relevant details for our records. This will be kept securely and will not be provided to any other parties unless we are legally required to do so.

How to certify your documents?

  1. Read and sign our Request Form and specify the number of certified copies you need for each of the documents.
  2. Pay the service fee.
  3. Submit the documents (signed Request Form in original, the original of your document, copy of ID or passport and copy of payment receipt) to British Council on the following address:

  4.  You will receive an email notification when your documents are ready to collect. This normally takes three working days.
  5. Collect your original documents and the certified copies you have ordered.

Certification fee is 20000KZT per each copy.

Verification of documents

We will require your original documents to provide this service. We will hold these securely until the service is complete and the documents can be returned to you. We will also need to send copies of your document to the issuing bodies. This will be done electronically. If any fraud is discovered, we will also pass details on to the relevant legal bodies.

Following completion of the service, we will retain a copy for our records. We will also record your name, type of document, the date of transaction and any other relevant details for our records. This will be kept securely and will not be provided to any other parties unless we are legally required to do so.

How to verify your documents

  1. You will need to read and sign our Request Form. If somebody else will be collecting your verified documents on your behalf, you will also need to read and sign the Authorisation Section of the Request Form.
  2. We can only verify the document after we have confirmation of the authenticity of the original document from the issuing body. For this purpose, you must sign our Third-Party Consent Form.
  3. Pay the service fee.
  4. Submit the documents (signed Request Form and Consent Form in original, Diploma original, transcript original, copy of ID or passport and copy of payment receipt) to British Council on the following address:

  5. You will receive an email notification when your documents are ready and you can then collect them. This normally takes 15 working days.
  6. To complete the process, we will also apply a verification stamp on the back of your original document/copy. For this purpose, you must sign our Consent to Stamp Original Document.
  7. Visit to collect your verified original documents.

Verification fee is 40000 KZT.

What will we do?

When you submit your documents for verification we will:

  • Check if your documents are eligible for verification service.
  • We will send a scanned copy of your document to the issuing body.
  • If the issuing body confirms the authenticity of the document, we will apply the verification stamp on the back of your original/copy diploma (not transcript).
