On 27 June 2017, Astana will host Science Stars, where young scientists from Kazakhstan, Spain, Norway, Malaysia and Northern Ireland – winners and finalists of FameLab, an international science communications competition, – will present their ideas to a general audience.  

Participants will have three minutes to speak about their scientific concepts and their way to success in FameLab. 

Speakers at Science Stars will prove that science may, and must, be interesting and understandable to everyone:

We invite you to visit Science Stars. Come and be the first to find out about advanced scientific research in robotics, molecular biology, genetics and healthcare.

The event is organised by the British Council with the support of Chevron and will be held within the framework of Astana EXPO 2017.

What is FameLab?

FameLab is one of the biggest science communications competitions in the world. In Kazakhstan, FameLab has been organised by the British Council with the support of Chevron since 2015. The national winner receives a grant for their research and has an opportunity to represent Kazakhstan at FameLab International in the UK.
