As part of EXPO-2017, the UK will deliver an inspiring cultural, education and business programme with a number of highly regarded UK institutions and businesses.
The UK’s education programme includes:
21 June - Commercialisation of Scientific Research Forum
A forum for universities, research centres, commercialisation professionals, policy makers and investors. Commercialisation of research is a key priority for Kazakhstan’s science and research programme, and this event aims to share UK expertise in this area with Kazakhstani partners, as well as to exchange experience and knowledge. The forum is organised by the British Council, the UK Pavilion at Astana Expo 2017, and the Alliance of Technology Commercialisation Professionals of Kazakhstan.

- Manchester University
- National Center for Biotechnology

22 June - Universities Partnership Forum
The UK-Kazakhstan University Forum, organised by the UK Pavilion at Expo Astana 2017, the British Council and the Ministry for Education and Science of Kazakhstan, will provide an opportunity for UK and Kazakhstani universities to meet on the Expo site and discuss some of the opportunities presented by collaboration between higher education institutions in both countries, as well as challenges to international working and how to overcome them.
22 June - Alumni Networking event
Alumni have great value as ambassadors for the UK education system. However, in addition to the obvious trade / business value they bring, it has long been recognised that alumni can also act as ambassadors for the UK as a whole, being able to share and transmit British values and British culture to others in Kazakhstan. This is especially important in a culture where personal experience is generally more trusted than advertising.
