Creative Central Asia, our annual conference series for the cultural economy. This year we organise this event in partnership with Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
On 22 and 23 November leaders from across the region’s creative sector came together again with UK counterparts for the third Creative Central Asia leadership conference which was held in Tashkent, Wyndham Hotel. The delegates had continued the dialogue, reviewed progress and pushed the cultural and creative economy agenda forward.
Although the conference vision, objectives and scale stayed broadly the same for Creative Central Asia 2019, this year’s conference differed from last year’s in terms of participant mix, focal themes for discussion whilst retaining its focus on practical action eg. through development and use of frameworks for action, provision of supporting toolkits etc.
For continuity and learning, a number of last year’s most dynamic participants were invited back although the majority of this year’s participants were new, in order to increase the size of the leadership network.
