On 22-25 September, four designers from Kazakhstan collaborating as a brand named А1462 will participate in Tent London, an international design trade show in London, with the support of the British Council and Chevron. The main purpose of the travel is to develop cooperation between the UK and Kazakhstani design sectors.

The designers’ collection to be presented at the exhibition consists of more than 30 items, including items of furniture for home and office, lighting, accessories and stationery.

About А1462

Until recently, Almaty designers Anastasia Leonova, Aziz Abdulmazhitov, Galym Kairalapov and Timur Aktayev have successfully created and sold their items of home decoration, lighting, and accessories as individuals. However, taking the current economic environment into account, they decided to join forces as the А1462 brand in order to jointly enter the European and North American markets.

  • Aziz Abdulmazhitov opened his studio, ArtGuild, in 2012 to make furniture and accessories from wood, steel, leather and plastics. He also develops interior designs for private and public spaces.
  • Galym Kairalapov is a designer-producer, creator of the KnockKnock brand. He specialises in the production of lighting and interior design items. You can find the brand’s products in shopping malls in Almaty and Astana, and in private collections.
  • Nastya Leonova: “My work stems directly from my passion to simple and ingenious solutions. When I create a new product, I try to feel and understand a situation: who is this product being designed for? Where will it be placed?”
  • Timur Aktayev is an architect-designer, creator of the NB! brand of leather accessories and the furniture brand Simple Things. He promotes industrial design and carries out master classes.
