The LCO are excited to be performing the piece in Kazakhstan with state-soloist Galya Bisengalieva who has also been a lead soloist for the LCO since 2008. Robert Ames, co-artistic director of the LCO and conductor of the performance of Under the Skin, also has a strong performance history in Kazakhstan having conducted the State Orchestra of Kazakhstan.

Both Ames and Bisengalieva have performed extensively in Kazakhstan and love the engagement and classical knowledge of audiences there.

Under the Skin is an opportunity for the LCO to present a seminal recent work of recent U.K. contemporary film and music making to a Kazakh audience. The film was never distributed in Kazakhstan and so this presentation is the first opportunity that audiences will have to see it live.
